⚡️A former member of the URSNIF extortion gang revealed the identities of his accomplices as revenge

Twitter user URSNIFleak, who claims to be a former member of the URSNIF ransomware gang, revealed the real identities of three accomplices in a series of tweets.

The hacker published fragments of the group's chats and screenshots of the source code of some URSNIF malware.

The messages discussed, among other things, money laundering and the situation in Ukraine.

The motive is revenge and an attempt to blackmail the extortionists.

The account URSNIFleak stopped publishing new content only after the leader of the gang under the pseudonym CAP paid him for his silence.

In the last tweet before deleting the account, the hacker wrote:

“I just made more money in one week than I have in years. Pay your workers right and they won't have any reason to suck."

Experts suggest that the discord occurred due to not the most successful extortion operations.
