Cyber police detained criminals who laundered $42 million through cryptocurrencies over two years. Cyber police officers, together with international experts in the field of digital currencies, uncovered three people involved in laundering $42 million through cryptocurrencies. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports this. In particular, the police collaborated with specialists from the international crypto exchange Binance. The Cyber Police Department began cooperation with one of the world’s largest digital currency exchanges at the beginning of 2020.

It is noted that the detainees provided services for the legalization and cashing of money obtained from crime. According to the police, over the course of two years they made financial transactions worth $42 million (more than 1.1 billion hryvnia).

For these actions, the three defendants face up to eight years in prison. The pre-trial investigation into this case continues.
