IBM CEO Arvind Krishna today addressed the US Congress, raising questions about the use of technology by law enforcement agencies, and also said that IBM is abandoning its facial recognition and analysis software products.


IBM no longer offers facial recognition or analysis software.


IBM strongly opposes and will not condone the use of any technology, including facial recognition technology offered by other vendors, for mass surveillance or violation of fundamental human rights and freedoms.


Artificial intelligence is a powerful tool that is beginning to be used in biased ways by both law enforcement agencies and private companies


Before this, IBM was one of the largest players in this market.
Eh... if people didn’t suffer from vanity, they wouldn’t post their photos on the Internet for everyone to see, there wouldn’t be any system of total surveillance... In some way, our current dystopia is the punishment of the majority for their narcissism.. .
